About Trident Earthmoving

Whakamaru based civil contractors for Taupō and the Waikato

Trident Earthmoving is run by Scott and Dominika Freegard out of Whakamaru. We take on civil construction, earthworks, drainage and farm work from Taupō through to Hamilton. Tōtika prequalified, properly geared up, and straight with you about what a job actually takes.

About us

A civil contracting and earthworks business based at Whakamaru, working across Taupō, the South Waikato, Waipā, Hamilton and the King Country. We do the three waters and subdivision work that needs a prequalified contractor, and the farm and lifestyle block work that needs someone who understands water.

Meet Scott and Dominika

Trident Earthmoving is run by Scott and Dominika Freegard from Whakamaru, in the middle of the country we work in.

Scott runs the machines and the jobs. Dominika runs everything else, so when you ring you get someone who knows where your job sits.
We hold Tōtika, New Zealand's national health and safety prequalification for contractors. It is what councils and head contractors check before they let anyone through the gate, and it is not something you pick up by accident.
‍
The gear is set up for accuracy, not just grunt. Grade control on the 313F means levels come off the model rather than a string line, which is why pads and batters pass first time. You are dealing with the people who actually turn up and do the work.

Insured and prequalified, so you are covered.

Comprehensive public liability

Public liability cover on every job, civil, farm and residential, protecting both your property and our work.

Prequalified for site

Tōtika prequalification means our health and safety, insurance and systems have been independently assessed, so getting us on site is straightforward.

Our certifications

Members of Civil Contractors New Zealand, the national body for civil contractors, and a Tōtika listed supplier.

CERTIFICATION

Tōtika Prequalified

New Zealand's national health and safety prequalification standard for contractors. Councils, government agencies and tier one head contractors check it before they let anyone on site. Most small earthmoving outfits do not hold it.

CAPABILITY

Grade control

Machine control on the CAT 313F, so levels come straight off the design model. Batters, inverts and formation levels are right the first time, which keeps inspections simple and programmes on track.

Where we work

Based at Whakamaru, we cover Taupō, the South Waikato, Waipā, Hamilton and out to Rotorua and the King Country. Here is the patch, and what we tend to see on the ground.

Simple, from quote to clean-up.

Step 01

We come and look

We come to you, look at the job and the access, and give you a clear scope and a price. No surprises later.

Step 02

Lock in a date

We book a date that works around your programme, your milking or your build.

Step 03

We do the work

Machine on site, job built to the drawing, and a tidy site the whole way through.

Step 04

Cleared and handed over

Site tidied and reinstated, and as-builts where the job calls for them. We back every job.

Questions people ask us

The things people want to know about who we are and how we work, before they pick up the phone.

Are you prequalified for council and commercial sites?

Yes. We hold Tōtika, New Zealand's national health and safety prequalification for contractors. It is what councils and head contractors check before they let a crew on site, and it is why a lot of our work is civil and infrastructure rather than backyard earthmoving. We carry public liability cover on every job.

What machines do you run, and who turns up?

Two CAT 313F excavators with grade control, a 3 tonne digger for tight access and a Hino 300 tip truck, with hired plant brought in at short notice for larger civil scopes. Scott runs the machines and the jobs, Dominika runs everything else, so when you ring you are talking to the people who actually do the work.

Still have questions?

Give Scott a call, or send the form and we will come and look at the job.
